In today’s online world you have to keep track of way too many passwords. You need a password for your network, your e-mail, your FTP, your blog, online passwords (like MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook), etc. etc. etc. The list is endless.

To be safe and secure you should use different passwords for each account. If you use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password you have a big problem. The thief would have access to your e-mail account, homepage, banks, everything.

To solve this problem I use and endorse KeePass. KeePass is an open-source password manager which helps manage all of your passwords in a secure place. All of your passwords are entered into an encrypted database and locked with one master password and/or a key file. So you only have to remember one single password or select the key file to unlock the database.

The database is encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish). In addition to the password management, the software also assists in generating random passwords and reminding you when it is time to change an old one.

It appears you are new around here. You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or register for email updates. Thanks for visiting!
