Herding is an excessive collective behavior in which people believe that something is good (or bad) on the basis of other people’s previous behavior. This can often be seen when people want to go to a restaurant where people are waiting outside. If a restaurant is never busy, people assume that others know something they don’t. There are millions of ways to use human herding tendencies in your marketing. Think about ways that you can show your customers that others are enjoying your products.
