Stop Procrastinating
deadlines, scheduleIt is human nature to procrastinate. We all have problems with self-control, related to immediate and delayed gratification. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to overcome this. If you are having trouble staying on task and getting your work done in a timely manor, try a daily schedule. Start by creating a to-do list (you probably already have one), and prioritize it by grouping items based on their deadlines into three groups: one-week deadlines, one-month deadlines, and one-year deadlines. Use your to-do list as a guide, and creat a schedule for your work day from start to finish. This is not a generic schedule, instead it may change every day based on the work at hand. Be sure to schedule time for lunch, stretching, and short breaks. The schedule should not be designed to keep you working every minute of the day, instead it is meant to commit yourself to working on specific projects during specific times. If you do this for one week, I guarantee you will get more work done, feel better about yourself, and have more time for breaks that you realized.
