Hopefully you’re not someone who has hit the send button on a marketing email only to discover after the fact that there were some absolutely terrible mistakes contained in the content. If it’s happened to you, we understand and before you send out another email, read on to find out how you can avoid some of the email blunders that can cost your company valuable business.

Start by developing a checklist for all marketing emails. At a minimum, make sure that content and design are in sync. This means that the to, from and subject line MUST be correct. Try to keep the subject under 50 characters or you risk losing the person’s interest automatically to suspect spam.

Email campaigns are a great way to reach a large targeted audience in a short time frame. But the risk factor to avoid is haste which can lead to wasted emails that are not getting results. Even when email is opened, content must grab the reader’s attention and keep it. Make sure that links are not broken and that the spelling check has been used.

When you take the time to ensure these things, your sending power increases exponentially!
