One of the fastest and least expensive ways to obtain valuable customer information is through online marketing surveys. The effort required to ensure that this method of survey taking is beneficial is small compared to the rewards you can reap from the results. Here are some top tips to ensure that your online marketing survey hits the ground running and crosses the finish line in first place:

• Define the survey’s objectives clearly. Ask the important questions and make sure the answers meet the objectives. If the objectives are not clear, neither with the survey be, which means go back to the drawing board.

• Invite participants. This is not the same as sending out an email blast. Take the time to make an official invitation, such as a personal invite from the head of the company and give an incentive for participation.

• Limit the length. Too many questions spells disaster, especially questions that are open ended or poorly worded.

• Send your survey on an optimum email day. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the only days you should send otherwise you risk getting your survey shuffled straight to the trash.

    Nice and concise suggestions. I was also looking at
    Zoomerang’s website. They have additional tips for making better online surveys. There are two or three in there I never thought of.
