You need a marketing plan that will guarantee marketing success month after month. Here are some easy steps you can take that will give your marketing plan a rock solid foundation on which to build a long standing future.
First, don’t stop with just having a marketing plan. You need to take the next step, which is to have your plan audited. Make sure that the person who is auditing is not the same person who is spearheading the plan.
Second, make sure that the criterion is clearly defined for the audit. Be sure to include key areas such as brand, competition, marketing mix, budget, research and implementation schedule. This criterion should be comprised of the key facets of your marketing plan because it will be used to create an audit format that the auditor can use.
Third, create a marketing plan auditing template that contains questions which help the auditor determine the success or need for improvement in the marketing plan. Questions such as whether marketing goals are clearly defined and manner in which measurables for goals are tracked are excellent starters.
