In the past I have always prepared custom estimates and invoices and then sent PDF’s by email to my clients. However this method is not so easy to do with a mobile browser and impossible if I am away from my computer and do not have access to my invoice templates.

I needed to find more professional means of conducting business and a better way to handle my proposals and invoices. I needed something that could invoice clients, track recurring invoices, send more professional proposals, and keep track of everything. I had a good friend in the business that uses FreshBooks, so I decided to give it a try and see what the hype was about.

A few days ago I published a daily marketing tip that discussed the power of herding. I now want to take a more in-depth look at this principle and discuss how I take advantage of this human tendency in my websites.

Let’s start by examining exactly what herd behavior is. In my marketing tip I defined herding as “an excessive collective behavior in which people believe that something is good (or bad) on the basis of other people’s previous behavior.” Herd behavior describes how individuals in a group collectively act together without a predetermined direction or plan.

AdWords for the G1 and iPhone

Google has announced a new campaign-level option permitting advertisers to create ad campaigns targeted directly to users of the new T-Mobile Android phone, the G1, and the iPhone. This new campaign targeting option also extends AdWords campaigns to any mobile device that have full HTML browser support.

Some of the biggest benefits of this are in the ability to now to optimize ads specifically to the new devices and create exclusive campaigns for them. This of course also provides separate performance reporting and can be used to create new campaign conversion goals within Google Analytics.
